A born and raised Midwestern boy, Johnny Henry is an electrifying artist with a big voice and an even bigger heart. Johnny's road to success has not followed the typical path that most aspiring Country stars take. Now sure, he has traveled the U. S. of A. playing shows, has built a very large fan-base, and is always surrounded by women - you see, Johnny is a stay-at-home Dad with a lovely wife and 4 beautiful daughters.
Between juggling the cooking, cleaning, homework, and carpool duties, Johnny has worked hard and racked up the miles to become a successful recording artist and touring singer/songwriter. Living with his family in St. Louis, Missouri and commuting back and forth to his home base in Nashville, while playing shows everywhere in between from Arizona to Maine, Johnny has delighted audiences for years with his outstanding performances.
He has performed as the "Sunday Spotlight" at the world famous Bluebird Cafe, has been featured at the famed Sheldon Concert Hall six times, has toured with Phil Vassar, has performed as part of the Country Throwdown Tour, and has opened concerts for over 30 well-known national acts including Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, Billy Currington, and more.
Johnny’s live shows feature his own contemporary country songs, which have been hailed by some in the industry as “the best new music on the scene”, as well as an ever expanding repertoire of familiar classic rock, singer-songwriter, and country favorites.
His debut release entitled "Now " was recorded in Nashville with producer Scotty Huff (who’s worked with such mega-stars as Keith Urban, Jake Owen, and The Mavericks).
The result is 5 catchy singles featuring tunes written by Johnny himself and some of Nashville's hit songwriters. A handful of Country music's finest touring musicians performed on the recordings and the background vocals feature Jamie Hanna and hit singer/songwriter Rachel Proctor.
Equally at home on the big stage in front of 70,000 people (opening for Trace Adkins under the Arch in St. Louis) or performing solo at a local pub, you'll soon be engaging in conversation with the always approachable Johnny Henry and singing along to songs that will no doubt catch your ear and have you coming back for more.
